Never Meant

I never meant to cause us pain,
Or travel a way that was not ours,
But from further wrongs I refrain.

I must now say the truth I know,
That we were never meant to be,
And from this we need to grow...

Grow farther from each other,
We will be okay,
As long as we cling to Another.

You probably think I'm wrong,
That I've made a mistake,
But you will see before long,

That the words I say are true,
The words that split the paths
Of friends that were...me and you.
